We are currently looking for an experienced housing lawyer to join our client, a national firm at Associate or Senior Associate (depending on experience and preference) in their Asset Management Team.

The Asset Management team has seen significant growth in the last 10 years and is one of the firms fastest growing teams, acting for Registered Providers and Local Authorities. The team is also recognised in Legal 500 & Chambers directory rankings and has done for a number of years. They continue to be appointed to some of the largest national and regional frameworks.

Associate or Senior Associate | Housing Disrepair the role:

The asset management team, which handles the departments housing conditions claims, has a strong reputation within the sector and enjoyed significant success at trial defending claims on behalf of Social Landlords. This has led to an influx of instructions, including pre-litigation and litigated claims. The main focus of this role will be defending litigated housing conditions claims. For this role you will be managing your own caseload of litigated hosing conditions claims as well as supervising the Junior Solicitors and Paralegals within the team, you will be well versed with drafting Defenses and witness statements and preparing cases for trial.

The firm are looking for someone with previous experience working in a Social Housing team, ideally having represented Registered Providers / Local Authorities. In addition to this they are looking for an individual with the following skills:

  • Proven track record of conducting claims to trial.
    • Ambition and a real interest in the social housing sector.
    • Supervision of junior members of the team.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, being able to adapt your style to communicate effectively with a wide range of professional people.
    • Enthusiastic about delivering excellent quality and service to clients.
    • The ability to multitask on a varied caseload.
    • Work well as part of a team and have a can-do attitude.
    • Advocacy experience will be advantageous but is not essential.
